Open publishing programs under the Virtual Science Library license in 2022

Open publishing programs under the Virtual Science Library license in 2022

On March 30, 2022, on the ICM and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science meeting, the financing plan for the WBN program in 2022 was discussed. On April 7, 2022, ICM issued a communication in which it informs, inter alia, on open publishing programs in 2022

For now, open publishing programs operate as previously agreed.

Elsevier national license
The program is continued under the terms of 2021, based on a unilateral decision of the Publisher.

Springer national license
The program is still suspended. ICM is making efforts to launch it before the end of April as soon as a new offer will be agreed.

Wiley national license
Because of the required cost reduction, it is not yet possible to launch the Wiley open publishing program.

CUP, Emerald, LWW, OUP consortium licenses
Programs will resume once new contracts are signed, possibly with the possibility of retroactivating articles published from early 2022.

ACS, IOP consortium licenses
Programs with new article pools for 2022 are already operating under the ACS and IOP licenses.

IEEE, T&F consortium licenses
The IEEE and TF programs do not plan to subsidize new deposits for 2022, but some institutions have unused deposits from 2021 and may order new deposits without subsidies.
